BIO

I am an artist, photographer, maker, designer, engineer, inventor and project manager.

CONTACT

I am passionate about making complex and interesting objects. I've built boats, bridges, art cars, amusement rides, giant art installations, pavilions, machines, mechanisms, sculptures, furniture, products and even houses; pretty much everything and anything, I've had a go at making.

Studio Mooky gets to the heart of it all. It's an offering of the type of work that's closest to my heart.  The objects are designed and fabricated by me, with help from some of the experts that I've met along the way. My hope is that I can make a small contribution to the exciting world of functional art.

I know from considerable experience that commissioning and installing an artwork is inherently complex and requires plenty of planning and preparation. What's the wind loading? How does it stand up? How is it cleaned and maintained? Where does the power come from? And so on.

These are all questions that should be addressed right from the beginning, so that the pieces can be modified and adapted to suit the constraints.  So, in addition to supplying the art, I will ensure that it works for your space and I'll install it too, if required.

For further information about prices and lead times, please get in touch with me below. Understanding your specific requirements will help me give you accurate and detailed information.

I am a sucker for new and exciting projects, so if you have an idea for an artwork or installation that you think i could help with, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Photography

I have always been interested in street photography.  The cat and mouse nature of getting the shot, the places it takes you, the people you meet, and so on.  But regular street photography has always been too literal and lacking in texture for me, which is why I set off into the abstract realm. First with shots that require a second look - Impressionism, and then onto the reflected images that I've called Expressionism.  They are all still taken in the street but with a new perspective. I've finally found a way of stretching and twisting photography into shapes that I can enjoy in the same way that I enjoy abstract painting.

All my photographs are available as regular photographic prints, stretched canvas prints or prints direct to acrylic in light boxes. I can also supply them in a size to suit your wall space.
